Their door sensors and motion sensors have a small red light indicator that will light up if triggered. The control panel is touchscreen and functions much like a tablet. Must pay out of pocket for most advanced equipment cameras, smart thermostat. My experience was totally unacceptable, I visit family in another state often and I relied on my home security . Just this past summer when there where repeated storms, my system failed me what makes it even worse I was never alerted!I just happen to check my home security as like I would normally do low and be it wasn't working!I called Comcast they were able to check and see how long it was down!Go figure!Keep in mind I'm over 600 miles are so away from home, and I wasn't returning for another week!Comcast tells me that I needed to be home to reset it!Well not able to return home to a week later , I'm left with my home unprotected!Paying almost $2,220. 00 year for the bundle they I had to have to get home security!I had only one option and was to mail my key to a friend so that they could enter my home and secure it!It just wasn't worth the problems that I was experiencing I shared this issue there were plenty more!Today I called ADT !I'm going to take a Hugh loss with breaking contracts! Not to mention Comcast reporting to the credit Bureau! So hopefully when they are paid off I'll have the peace of mind that I need looking for a more reliable security company! Not I cable company!Been with Comcast since 2012. Comcast came and installed my XFINITY alarm system today and I have to say I am very impressed! The price will never change in 3 years and the equipment and installation were both free. With my particular deal, I can even cancel the alarm service anytime with no fees, as long as I keep internet or tv. I will always use their internet The touchscreen hub has a Verizon cell phone chip in it as a backup, and also a battery if the power goes out. I can use the app to arm or disarm or watch video from my home.

But some security systems also have a handsfree feature that will work with your mobile device or a key fob to detect when you are within range of your system. And when you are within that range, it will automatically unlock your door and disarm your security system for you, handsfree. So if this is a convenience factor you’d like to have, then yes, you do need to look for a system that has handsfree options. Geotracking works similar to the handsfree feature. When geotracking is included with your home security system, it works with the GPS feature on your smartphone, as long as you have the location services enabled. This feature will detect your location as long as you have your phone with you and you can preset rules as to how you want to use that feature. You can lock/unlock your door, arm/disarm your security system, turn your lights on or off, set the preferred temperature on your thermostat so it’s comfortable when you arrive. You can even preset it to close your garage door if you forget and it will do so once you’ve traveled beyond a certain range. You will probably want good security cameras and/or doorbell cameras so you can see who’s coming and going, as well as what’s happening in and around your home at all times. You might also want the panic button and the two way talk feature so your family can instantly call for help when needed. Window and door sensors and equipment that offers a cellular backup option so you don’t have to worry about the loss of security if any lines are cut or you lose power.
